| Day 1. Friday/Thursday | AUCKLAND - RAROTONGA | |
| Fly from Auckland, or Christchurch with Air New Zealand, or from Auckland or Australia with Pacific Blue (air fares not included - book early for the best fares!). Cross the dateline and arrive Rarotonga thursday. Transfer to the Rarotongan Beach Resort and Spa for a welcome juice and check into your accommodation Note: Passengers from Sydney can use the Air New Zealand direct flight departing Sydney Sunday evening arriving Rarotonga early sunday morning and departing from Rarotonga Friday afternoon arriving Saturday evening during the winter months. Order of sightseeing and travel will vary. | ||

| You will be picked up by Tangaroa Tours for a 4WD tour around the island. First set the Umu (underground oven), then off on the ancient "Ara Metua" inland road. Visit Wigmores waterfall, drive inland for panoramic views over the lagoon, visit local farms and learn of the agriculture, visit a perfume factory and taste the Noni juice. After the sightseeing its back to base to uplift and enjoy the Umu and try marinated raw fish. Return to the hotel early afternoon to relax and enjoy the lagoon. | ||
| Day 3. Saturday. | RAROTONGA | (BD) |
| Transfer to the main village of Avarua to visit the main market and explore the shops. Mid morning we meet our local guide for a historical tour of Avarua tracing the settlement of the country by Polynesians, Missionaries, and New Zealand officials. Explore the harbours of Avatiu and Avarua, the main theological centre, and visit the Cook Islands museum. Late morning we depart for the beautiful lagoon of Muri and see the pass from where the great migration left for New Zealand. You have time to snorkel and swim in the lagoon and use the non motorised water sports equipment. Return to the hotel later in the afternoon. This evening visit Highland Park cultural centre for a fascinating introduction to pre european culture on an ancient marae, Umu dinner, and enjoy the pulsating sounds and scenes of the dance party. | ||
| Day 4. Sunday. | RAROTONGA | (BD) |
| The day is free to relax and enjoy all the facilities of your resort. The hotel offers a range of free activities which includes guided Lagoon snorkelling and fish feeding, learn to play the island drums, make Ika Mata - raw fish, beach volleyball contest etc.This evening the Sunday Carvery Roast is included. We do recommend a visit to a local church to enjoy the beautiful singing. | ||
| Day 5. Monday | RAROTONGA - AITUTAKI | (B) |
| Transfer to the airport and fly to the beautiful island of Aitutaki - renowned as one of the most beautiful atolls in the Pacific. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the lagoon and facilities of your resort. | ||
| Day 6. Tuesday | AITUTAKI | (BL) |
| Enjoy a full day cruise on beautiful Aitutaki Lagoon to Barefoot and Akiami Islands with snorkelling time on the main reef - weather permitting. A barbecue lunch is included today. | ||
| Day 7. Wednesday | AITUTAKI - RAROTONGA | (B) |
| This morning enjoy a 4WD tour including the site of the ancient Marae, Main village, historical landmarks, a local plantation, and world war 2 tracks and bunkers. You have time TO explore the main village in Aitutaki. This afternoon fly back to Rarotonga and transfer back to the Rarotongan Beach Resort and Spa. | ||
| Day 8. Thursday/Friday | RAROTONGA - AUCKLAND | (B) |
| Free time to swim or shop before transferring to the airport for departure. Air New Zealand depart late thursday afternoon arriving Auckland friday night and early friday arriving Auckland saturday, or early friday morning with Pacific Blue (arriving Auckland and Australia saturday - air fares not included). Please note that check out time is 11am. Room use can be extended until 6pm for a fee of $180 per room YOU ARE WELCOME TO STAY LONGER IN RAROTONGA IF YOU WISH. Costs will vary. MONDAY DEPARTURES FROM NEW ZEALAND (arrive sunday) link from our New Zealand and Australia tours and on to Los Angeles on Air New Zealand non stop flight saturday night, or depart sunday for Auckland arriving monday SOUTHBOUND: Depart Los Angeles sunday night arriving Rarotonga monday morning. Relax for the day and do your 4WD tour on tuesday. Sunday. Arrive Rarotonga and transfer to Rarotongan Beach Resort Monday. Rarotonga 4WD tour with Tangaroa Tours Tuesday. Free day Wednesday. Fly to Aitutaki Thursday. Full day cruise to Akiami island etc Friday. 4WD tour and return to Rarotonga Saturday. Morning visit to Avarua market, tour of town, and visit Muri beach. Those departing for Los Angeles retain room until departure late evening. Sunday. Depart Rarotonga this afternoon arriving Auckland late evening monday. | ||
