HOSTED DEPARTURE FROM AUCKLAND MONDAY 07 AUGUST, 2017 (Arrive sunday)

This tour stays at Pacific Resort, Rarotonga, and Aitutaki Lagoon Resort.
Group departure escorted subject to minimum of 6 travelling

Independent departures commence Rarotonga daily (minimum 2 passengers) with the option to stay at Pacific Resorts or Club Raro

  Day 1. ARRIVE RAROTONGA
Arrive Rarotonga. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation for a welcome juice and check in.

Rarotonga - Cook Islands


  Day 2. RAROTONGA(BD)
Transfer to beautiful Muri Lagon to join Captain Tama's cruise. Swim in the lagoon, snorkel through a Black Pearl farm amid the tropical fish and coral gardens in the marine reserve and enjoy a barbecue lunch before returning to your hotel. Time to freshen up before transferring to Te Vara Nui Village for an introduction to Rarotonga's history and culture, a spectacular cultural show, and delicious Umu buffet.

  Day 3. RAROTONGA(B)
The day is free to relax and enjoy all the facilities of your hotel and beach or explore at your leisure.

  Day 4. RAROTONGA (BL)
You will be picked up for a 4WD tour around the island. First set the Umu (underground oven), then off on the ancient "Ara Metua" inland road. Visit Wigmores waterfall, drive inland for panoramic views over the lagoon, visit local farms and learn of the agriculture, visit a perfume factory and taste the Noni juice. After the sightseeing its back to base to uplift and enjoy the Umu and try marinated raw fish. Return to the hotel early afternoon to relax and enjoy the lagoon.

 
Day 5. RAROTONGA - AITUTAKI (B) This morning transfer to the Highland Paradise Cultural Centre built at the historic Pa site of the Pinomana tribe. Learn of the ancient way of life, traditional medicines, the importance of the coconut tree, and of the ancient battles and sacrifices that took place here. A snack lunch is included before transferring to the airport and fly to the beautiful island of Aitutaki - renowned as one of the most beautiful atolls in the Pacific. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the lagoon and facilities of your resort.

Aitutaki - Cook Islands

  Day 6. AITUTAKI(BL)
Enjoy a full day cruise on beautiful Aitutaki Lagoon to Barefoot and Akiami Islands with snorkelling time on the main reef - weather permitting. A barbecue lunch is included today.

  Day 7. AITUTAKI (B)
This morning enjoy a 4WD tour including the site of the ancient Marae, Main village, historical landmarks, a local plantation, and world war 2 tracks and bunkers. You have time to explore the main village in Aitutaki.

  Day 8. AITUTAKI (B)
Free time to explore Aitutaki before flying back to Rarotonga to connect with your ongoing flight
